These findings are commonly called two-hole bars, connector bars, or sometimes link bars. They’re used in jewellery making to join components together, adding structure and design interest. Here’s a breakdown of how they’re employed:

  • Parallel Strands: 2 hole connector bars are excellent for creating multi-strand necklaces or bracelets where you want the strands to lay parallel and evenly spaced.

Each strand passes through one of the holes in the bar, keeping them aligned.

  • Layered Look: They can also be used to create a layered look with precision. You can attach one set of strands to one bar, and another set to a different bar, then connect the bars to each other or a clasp.
  • Extending Designs: The holes allow you to add drops or dangles to a design. You can attach a chain, bead, or charm to the bottom hole of the bar, letting it hang gracefully.
  • Earring Components: Two-hole bars can be used as the base for earrings. The top hole attaches to an ear wire, while the bottom hole holds a dangle or pendant.
  • Chain Extensions: They can act as extenders for necklaces or bracelets, allowing for adjustable lengths.
  • Focal Points: They can be used to connect a focal bead or element to a chain or other components.
